Why come to Nerja?
Beautiful Nerja is in Spain on the Costa del Sol, right on the coast at the foothills of the Sierra De Tejada mountains about thirty five miles east of Malaga, and about forty five minutes drive from the Airport (on the N340 motorway). Although Nerja may not have the big attractions that resorts such as Benalmadena or Fuengarola or Benidorm have it has beautiful sandy beaches, impressive mountain scenery and is untouched by high rise developments. It is nearer to the real Spain, and just a few minutes walk from the Town centre you will regularly see Oxen pulling a plough, and just a few more minutes drive is some of the most magnificent scenery to be seen anywhere.

From Burriana beach to the town runs a coastal path with fantastic views. Following the winding path brings you into the town where you will find the famous Balcon de Europa. The Balcon is the place to be at night where people promenade after a wonderful meal. You can either sit and watch with a nice cool drink, take a tour of the town by horse & trap or have your portrait drawn by one of the Artists. Nerja has managed to keep a lot of it's character, particularly the old part of town with narrow cobbled streets and Tapas Bars. Take time to explore the town you'll find lots of varied restaurants, interesting shops and even trendy Internet Cafe's for those who need to keep in touch!

Nerja has a choice of beaches, Burriana, Calahonda, Torrecilla and Salon. The most popular is the Burriana where you will find plenty of places to eat your lunch or enjoy an evening meal. All the usual water sports are available.
Nerja is only two hours drive from the Sierra Nevada (Europe's most Southerly Ski resort) so you can ski in the morning and be on the beach in the afternoon.
